LET SCIENCE GUIDE YOUR WAY TO...
By Dr Megan Chircop
The short answer is, NO! If you are not eating enough calories for a long period of time, then you are most likely causing damage to your health as well as hindering your progress toward a healthy body.
Food is not the enemy. Instead, altering your mindset about how you think about food can drastically change whether or not you will be able to achieve your ideal body shape.
Your new mantra should be...
"Food nourishes my body"
Here are a few ways food nourishes your body....
* grows long shiny hair and strong nails
* forms new skin for that unblemished smooth appearance
* powers your immune system to keep out unwanted “bugs”, i.e. minimise those colds/flus and infections
* keeps your thyroid functioning optimally
*supports muscle growth for a strong lean body
*provides energy to keep you active all day long
* for women, regulates your hormonal system, i.e. periods
and so much more...
If you have noticed a change in any one of these in your own body, then some aspect of your diet is likely to be inadequate. Thus, you may want to think about the types of food you are 'nourishing' you body with!
The Body Sculptors Australia team prides itself on developing nutritious recipes that are absolutely delicious. You will wonder why you have not eaten like this your whole life when food tastes this good.
