Circuit training is when a series of exercises is performed, either for a predetermined period of time (e.g. 30 seconds to 1 minute per “set”), or a predetermined number of repetitions per “set”, followed by immediate transition to the next exercise, and so on until the “circuit” of exercises has been completed. At this stage there might be a small rest (anywhere from 30s to 1 minute), before repeating the circuit. The number of exercises per circuit, and number of circuits per workout session varies. A typical circuit training session might last anywhere from 20 minutes to 45 minutes, and most people will benefit from 2-4 sessions per week.
Typically, circuit routines aim to target most of the body’s major muscle groups each session. However, some circuit routines are somewhat based on resistance training workouts, in that they incorporate the similar exercises (but use much lighter loads), or else that a single circuit workout might focus on one or two groups of muscles (which changes from workout session to workout session over the course of the week).
The advantages of this type of training include:
Like most forms of energy system training, the main effect on body composition is likely to be a reduction in total fat mass. A modest increase in lean body mass is also likely to occur in those who use circuit training, and this effect is likely to be particularly pronounced in those who are sedentary and relatively naïve to training.

Understanding your own nutritional requirements can often be confusing, especially as we age and our hormones change. I am in my 40s, a single mum to a 6yr old daughter, whom has boundless energy and I want to keep up. So I understand how difficult it can be and how time-poor we all are and therefore put ourselves last, especially as parents.
With my experience, I can help you understand your body and what nourishment it needs to feel happy, lighter, & confident in your own skin.
I am also a keen sportswoman, and have extensive knowledge of sports nutrition. So, if you are looking to up your performance to achieve your best, reach out.
